First responders often experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances they encounter on the job. Some qualify for the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder/Injury diagnosis. Family members may deal with vicarious trauma and/or struggle to support their first responder. Various therapy modalities, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Brainspotting, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy can be used successfully to reduce symptoms of trauma based disorders.
Depression and anxiety are common mental health challenges that people often seek counseling to work through. These changes in mood can impact many areas of a person's life including stress management, interpersonal relationships, and ability to function at previous levels. FRC can help individuals learn more about and work through many different mental health issues to improve overall mental wellbeing.
